Royal Winter Fair 2010
KREC will have a new and expanded role at this year’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair November 5-14th.
1. Booth—KREC will have its regular booth in Northern Pavilion
2. Show Horses—Hopefully, we will have a number of horses showing similar to last year.
3. Spirit of the Horse—And new this year, we will be showcasing the thoroughbred in cooperation with Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (CTHS) in The Spirit of the Horse ring. We need attendants, riders and grooms for the Royal. See Megan, Stephanie or Gord for more information.

RESULTS FROM 2009 ROYAL WINTER FAIR!
Sleek and Powerful, a 7 year old Thoroughbred mare was awarded the Malcolm D. Richa
rdson Challenge Trophy as the 2009 Thoroughbred Grand Champion Mare. She competed against all the other Champion mares from all other classes and came home with the trophy and Grand Champion Award. Sleek and Powerful was shown by KREC Trainer Siobhan Mitchell.
Sleek and Powerful’s handsome colt, Sleek and Mobil (Preston), born in April 2009, won class #1101. Thoroughbred Colt, Filly or Gelding Foal of 2009. Shown by KREC Coach/Trainer Megan D’Allaire.
Ascot Aly, a 1 year old filly, sired by the famous Ascot Knight and foaled by KREC brood
mare Sonic Boom Aly, won class #1103 Thoroughbred Junior Champion Filly. Ascot Aly was shown by Sherri Whitworth.
Stormy Keeper aka Riley placed 4th in #1101 Thoroughbred Colt, Filly or Gelding Foal of 2009 shown by Amber Galli. Riley was born at KREC in April 2009. A beautiful colt from OURS TO KEEP (KEEPER) and Sire WEATHER WARNING (Grand Sire is STORM CAT).
Hietorie Tango aka Torie was the first foal born at Knowlton Ridge. She competed in class #1106 Colt, Filly, or Gelding Foal of 2006 placing 3rd. Shown by Siobhan Mitchell.
Untruthiness (Nessie) placed 7th with KREC owner Gord Cardwell in the Colt, Filly, or Gelding Foal of 2006.
The beautiful chestnut mare, Five Star Miss, was shown by Amber Galli in the Broodmare/Yeld Mare class placing 3rd.
