MEET THE BABIES OF KREC
A sure sign of Spring – foals at a horse farm. Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre is pleased to announce the arrival of the first foal of the season:

- Chloe (pictured) a filly arrived at 5:30am on Thursday, April 15th. The mare (mother) is Kalabatton (pictured) and the sire (father) is the stakes winning thoroughbred Stallion Best of the Best. The foal is Kalabatton’s first foal and the baby’s proposed racing name is Kalabatton’s Best.
Marlie
Marlie another filly arrived at 7:15am on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009. The mare is Five Star Miss ‘Missy’ and the Sire is another stakes winning throughbred stallion Vibank.

Riley
Born April 1, 2009 @ 9:00pm. A beautiful colt from OURS TO KEEP (KEEPER) and Sire WEATHER WARNING (Grand Sire is STORM CAT).

Born Friday, April 10th, 2009 @ 12:25am. The colt of Sleek & Powerful (mare) and Mobil (sire).

Sydney
Sydney was born on May 4, 2009. The filly of Santana (mare) & Mobil (sire).
Pony Pony delivered her beautiful filly foal, Rosie, @ 5:30am Tuesday may 26th. Exact same markings as Pony with one white sock and small crooked blaze. Last baby of the Spring!!

The newest addition to the farm and just off the track at Woodbine and Fort Erie. Too slow and too sweet! She wants a new career as a hunter.
Torie
Show Name: Hie Torie Tango

Sex: Mare
Height: 15
Age: 3
Torie is the first foal born at KREC. She is currently in training to become a race horse. Torie finished 3rd at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto on November 15th, 2008 in 2 year old thoroughbred on-the-line.
Ascot Aly
“Ascot Aly” a 1 year old bay filly. Her sire is leading Canadian sire Ascot Knight and her dam is Sonic Boom Aly (see above).

Ours to Keep
KREC attended the prestigious Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (C.T.H.S.) Annual Winter Mixed Sale at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion at the Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto on Saturday November 29th. Knowlton Ridge was the successful bidder on six (6) quality horses at the Woodbine auctions: “Ours to Keep” a 6 year old bay mare who sold as a yearling 5 years ago for $150,000. She won $42,000 on the race track. Her sire is Archers Bay who won the Queen’s Plate in 1998 and her dam is Built on Dreams. On April 1 @9:00pm Keeper gave birth to her colt ‘Riley’. The Sire is Weather Warning.
Sleek and Powerful
“Sleek and Powerful” a 7 year old dark bay mare who won $34,000. on the race track. Her sire is Sir Cat a $401,000 stakes winner in his career. Sleek and Powerful’s grand sire is the famous breeding stallion Storm Cat and her dam is Little Marie. She was recently in foal to Mobil one of the top sires in North America and gave birth to a handsome colt ’Preston’ on April 10 @12:25am.
Sonic Boom Aly
“Sonic Boom Aly” a 7 year old bay mare. Her sire is Alybro a stakes winner of $211,000 and her dam is Native Dreamer. She gave birth to her foal Austin (sired by Weather Warning) on May 9th @ 6:00am.
Connie
“Consort’s Choice” a 10 year old grey mare who won $23, 000 on the race track. Her sire is Great Gladiator a stakes winner of $208,000 and her dam is Grey Consort. Unfortunately, Connie recently lost her foal (sired by Philanthropist)’Contessa’ to a rare blood disease on Friday April 3rd @ 5:05am. Five Star Miss
“Five Star Miss” a 10 year old chestnut mare. Her sire is Rhythm a multi-stakes winner of $1,600,000 and her dam is Starpiece. Her filly ‘Marlie’ was born on March 24th @ 7:15am. The sire is stakes winner Vibank.
